Staff Nurse – Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients health conditions and record medical history.
• Monitor patients vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition.
• Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed by the doctor.
• Assist doctors during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
• Perform wound dressing, catheterization, IV cannulation, and other nursing procedures.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medications, and home care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation.
• Ensure proper infection control practices and follow hospital safety protocols.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid or CPR when required.
• Coordinate with doctors, technicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Monitor and maintain medical equipment and nursing supplies.
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
• Support patients emotionally and provide compassionate care throughout their treatment.
• Participate in shift handovers and communicate patient updates effectively.

Requirements

• GNM or B.Sc. Nursing qualification.
• Valid Nursing Council Registration.
• Strong clinical and patient care skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Basic knowledge of hospital protocols, infection control, and emergency procedures.
