About the Role
As a Risk Analyst, you will support the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of project risks across the project lifecycle. Working closely with project and commercial teams, you will maintain accurate risk registers, support quantitative risk analysis, and deliver data-driven insights that enable effective project governance and decision-making.
Prior experience in the construction, engineering, infrastructure, or EPC industry is mandatory, as a strong understanding of project delivery and construction risk is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve project risk registers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support risk identification, categorisation, root cause analysis, and stakeholder risk workshops.
- Prepare, validate, and maintain high-quality risk data for governance, client reporting, and project decision-making.
- Support quantitative risk assessments, including three-point cost and schedule estimates, probability assessments, concurrency assumptions, and Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA).
- Monitor mitigation actions, contingency utilisation, and changes to residual risk exposure during project delivery.
- Maintain live risk registers by tracking emerging risks, mitigation progress, and risk status updates.
- Produce project, programme, and portfolio-level risk reports, dashboards, and trend analyses for leadership and governance.
- Support compensation events and change management through risk evidence, historical data, and exposure analysis.
- Capture lessons learned and ensure robust documentation, version control, and auditability of all risk management activities.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Mandatory: Proven experience as a Risk Analyst on construction, infrastructure, EPC, or major engineering projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of project risk management principles, methodologies, and project controls.
- Experience with project risk registers, risk reporting, quantitative risk assessments, and QSRA.
- Knowledge of project scheduling, cost management, contingency management, and compensation event processes.
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Experience using risk management software such as Active Risk Manager (ARM), Predict!, Safran Risk, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent organisational, written and verbal communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Professional certifications such as APM, PMI-RMP, IRM, or equivalent will be an advantage.
