Lead Application Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Opportunity Management

• Meet customers and prospects to identify, qualify, and develop business opportunities
• Define evaluation criteria and support customer evaluations of Cadence tools
• Convert opportunities into successful production deployments
• Support customers in resolving issues impacting production schedules

Technical Support & Problem Solving

• Resolve complex customer issues related to analog layout and physical design flows
• Provide guidance on advanced node layout design and design rule constraints
• Ensure smooth deployment and adoption of Cadence Custom IC tools

Analog Layout & Physical Design Expertise

• Apply strong understanding of analog layout design fundamentals
• Work with advanced node Virtuoso technology file constraints
• Understand complete analog back-end flow including floorplanning, block layout, physical verification, extraction, and EM/IR analysis
• Support chip integration and signoff activities using Cadence tools

Automation & Scripting

• Develop scripting solutions for layout automation and productivity improvement
• Enhance design workflows through automation and tool customization

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D and Product Engineering teams for feature enhancements and bug fixes
• Provide customer feedback to influence product development
• Coordinate across multiple stakeholders for issue resolution and product improvement

Customer & Communication Leadership

• Act as a technical advisor for customers in analog IC design flows
• Demonstrate strong communication and leadership in cross-functional environments
• Ensure effective collaboration between customers, engineering, and internal teams
