Job Description – Junior Technician Job Title: Junior Technician Department: Technical Services / Operations Reports To: Senior Technician / Technical Supervisor Location: [Location] Job Summary The Junior Technician supports the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Working under the guidance of senior technicians, the role assists with preventive and corrective maintenance, responds to technical issues, and helps maintain equipment in accordance with company standards and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Preventive Maintenance • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and systems as per the maintenance plan. • Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures. • Clean, lubricate, adjust, and replace basic components as required. • Record maintenance activities and report findings to the supervisor. Corrective Maintenance • Assist in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment faults. • Replace defective components such as switches, sensors, fuses, motors, relays, bearings, and cables. • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and support restoration of normal operations. • Escalate complex technical issues to senior technicians. Equipment Operations • Ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently before, during, and after operating hours. • Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment. • Perform functional checks after maintenance to verify proper operation. • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Documentation • Complete work orders and maintenance reports accurately. • Update maintenance logs and equipment history records. • Report recurring issues and recommend improvements where appropriate. Health, Safety & Compliance • Follow company health, safety, and environmental policies. • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices at all times. • Maintain a clean and organized work area. • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, or near misses immediately. Qualifications • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field. • 0–2 years of technical maintenance experience. • Fresh graduates with relevant technical training are encouraged to apply. Technical Skills • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems. • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. • Basic troubleshooting and fault-finding skills. • Ability to read simple technical drawings and manuals. • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); familiarity with CMMS is an advantage.
