Who are we looking for 

Title: Finance Manager 

Arrangement: Full-time

Location: Mumbai, India

Role Overview 

The Finance Manager is a senior oversight role for reach52's India entities. The incumbent reviews and signs off on the work produced by the Finance Assistant, owns all regulatory and reporting obligations, and translates financial data into intelligence for leadership. Day-to-day processing sits with the Finance Assistant.. 

Key Responsibilities 

Governance, Controls & Review 

  • Review and approve payment batches, journal entries, accruals, and period-end adjustments before execution or close. 
  • Sign off on monthly management accounts and all Finance Assistant reconciliations (bank, GST, intercompany, vendor ledgers) as a month-end gate. 
  • Maintain a monthly close checklist covering statutory deadlines, payroll approval, budget submissions, and reporting packs. 
  • Oversee the India general ledger; resolve discrepancies and set documentation and escalation standards for the Finance Assistant. 

Statutory Compliance & Audit 

  • Own all statutory filings for India entities: GST, TDS/TCS, advance tax, MCA, and RBI/FEMA filings, with zero lapses. 
  • Lead the statutory audit end-to-end: coordinate with external auditors, prepare schedules, resolve queries, and ensure timely sign-off. 
  • Maintain audit readiness year-round; support due diligence exercises as required by the COO or Board. 
  • Liaise with external tax advisors, company secretaries, and regulators as needed. 

Budgeting, Payroll & Reporting 

  • Own annual budget preparation; build and maintain rolling forecasts; monitor actuals vs budget and produce variance commentary for leadership. 
  • Review and approve monthly payroll, ensure accurate statutory deductions (PF, ESI, TDS, PT), and advise the Global Operations team on Indian labour code compliance across all employment and contractor arrangements 
  • Produce monthly MI packs: P&L, cash position, budget vs actuals, cash flow forecasts, and burn rate. Reports are concise and decision-ready. 

Intercompany, Transfer Pricing & ERP 

  • Oversee intercompany billing, reconciliations, and settlements; ensure transfer pricing policies and documentation comply with Indian regulations. 
  • Coordinate with group finance (Singapore HQ) on intercompany positions and year-end true-ups. 
  • Provide finance oversight during ERP migrations or system transitions (Xero, ZipERP, Odoo), covering chart of accounts, data integrity, and post-migration reconciliations. 

Team Oversight 

  • Conduct monthly review sessions with the Finance Assistant across all workstreams; provide structured feedback and flag recurring issues to the COO. 
  • Coach and develop the Finance Assistant on process, controls, and documentation quality; serve as first point of escalation. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification strongly preferred; equivalent senior finance qualification considered. 
  • Minimum 7 years of finance experience, with at least 3 years in a compliance-heavy role, preferably within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences sector. 
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian statutory requirements: GST, TDS, MCA, RBI/FEMA, transfer pricing. 
  • Experience managing statutory audits independently. 
  • Familiarity with Xero, Odoo, or equivalent cloud accounting systems.
