Job Description

  • As a Railway Brake Disc and Pads Designer, you will be responsible for designing railway brake discs and pads based on inputs provided by global engineers or customers.
  • You will develop engineering drawings that fulfil technical objectives consistent with established guidelines, customer requirements, and design specifications.
  • You will also design casting and machined parts using Creo software skills.
  • You will coordinate with global engineers to meet or exceed the design aspects of the projects.
  • Your product design will be based on design for manufacture/design for assembly.
  • You will recommend alternative product and system designs as required and initiate Engineering Change Orders per procedures.
  • You will be expected to deliver on time while doing it right the first time and every time.
  • Good English language communication skills are a must.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to develop railway brake discs and pads.
  • Create 2D drawings per ISO standards and 3D CAD models using Creo.
  • Understand design problems and bring up optimal solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional team members and contribute positively to the engineering community.
  • Support the Product Development Team with application of design engineering to new product design.
  • Manage CAD data flawlessly using Windchill.
  • Knowledge of industry design standards for dimensioning and tolerancing, casting part design, and casting process.
  • Organize, plan, and coordinate with global team to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate should be Bachelor / Master in Mechanical engineering.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience, preferably in brake design and development activities.
  • Proficiency with engineering design programs such as Creo, Autocad, etc.
  • Problem solving abilities, with exceptional time management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Good Team Player.
  • Willingness to Learn from seniors and Teach junior team members.
  • Analytical skills and out of the box thinking.
