About this Role

We are seeking a Data Modelling Specialist to support the delivery of enterprise data platforms by designing simple, scalable and reusable data models across Data Vault, data warehousing and analytical layers on GCP and BigQuery. This role is ideal for individuals with strong experience in data modelling, data warehousing or data architecture, combined with practical exposure to Data Vault 2.0, dimensional modelling, dbt and cloud-based data platform delivery. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, product owners and business stakeholders to develop high-quality, auditable and standards-aligned data models that enable trusted business insights.

What you will do

  • Understand source systems, business requirements, metadata and data profiling outputs.
  • Design and maintain Data Vault 2.0 models, including Hubs, Links, Satellites and Reference Data structures.
  • Develop data warehouse and dimensional models including fact tables, dimension tables and star schemas.
  • Define business keys, relationships, historisation approaches, lineage and data quality rules.
  • Prepare source-to-target mappings, entity definitions and comprehensive modelling documentation.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, product owners and source system subject matter experts to validate and deliver data models.
  • Support dbt and AutomateDV implementations using metadata-driven design principles.
  • Ensure data models are scalable, reusable, auditable and aligned to enterprise data modelling standards.
  • Contribute to cloud-based data platform solutions delivered on GCP and BigQuery.
  • Support testing, validation and quality assurance activities throughout the data lifecycle.

Who you are

  • Demonstrated experience in data modelling, data warehousing and analytical data design.
  • Good understanding of Data Vault 2.0 methodologies and dimensional modelling techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of facts, dimensions, star schemas and enterprise data warehouse concepts.
  • Hands-on SQL skills with the ability to analyse source systems, metadata and profiling results.
  • Experience delivering solutions on GCP, BigQuery and modern cloud-based data platforms.
  • Working knowledge of dbt, AutomateDV, YAML, data testing frameworks and version-controlled development practices.
  • Ability to create logical, physical and source-to-target data models.
  • Understanding of data lineage, auditability, historisation and data quality management.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain modelling decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with enterprise source systems such as CRM, billing, order management, customer, product, service or asset management platforms is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, modelling tools, metadata management, data governance, privacy and security practices.
