About the Sanitation project

Every day, thousands of sanitation workers in India risk their lives entering septic tanks and sewers - work that is unsafe, undignified, and prohibited by law. We are building a future where sanitation is mechanized, safe, and dignified, powered by digital systems, progressive policies, and an empowered workforce.

In this program we will identify the underlying challenges and design comprehensive solutions - all along with governments, NGOs, and commercial players to ensure practicality and implementation.

We are looking for bold, committed professionals to own key parts of this journey: shape ideas, design solutions, build coalitions, and ensure that we achieve our goal of zero sanitation worker deaths.

What you'll do

As an Associate Manager (Strategy and Execution), you will apply systems thinking to identify key underlying challenges and design a holistic strategy to solve them. This is a high-ownership role. You will be on the frontlines shaping and monitoring a national transformation.

• Take a scoped problem statement and drive problem solving and action with moderate guidance.
• Engage and manage relationships with various stakeholders e.g., machine manufacturers, governments, NGOs, sanitation workers. Conduct workshops, plan and prepare for meetings, co-create documents with them.
• Conduct structured research and analysis to uncover insights that inform strategic decisions.
• Prepare concept notes, strategy decks, briefs, and synthesis documents.

Who we're looking for:

• Strong structured problem-solving skills, i.e., ability to break down complex issues into clear components.
• Comfort with working across ambiguity and evolving priorities with agility.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capability with different types of stakeholders.
• Proactivity, accountability, and a strong drive to go the extra mile and deliver high-quality outputs and outcomes.
• Polished communication and presentation skills.
• Interest in governance, labour systems, and social impact.
• Professionalism, ownership mindset, and attention to detail.
• 5-8 years of experience in roles which require original thinking, confidence, and clear communication such as strategy consulting, law, general management.
• Ultimately, we are looking for someone smart who has a fire to make a difference to address a wicked problem as this.
