Description
We are seeking a skilled Welder MIG/MAG (136 & 138) to join our team in Poland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MIG/MAG welding and a commitment to producing high-quality work. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG/MAG welding on various metal components and structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards during welding processes.
- Conduct inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet specifications.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3-7 years of experience in MIG/MAG welding (136 & 138)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of welding safety protocols and practices.
- Experience with various welding techniques and equipment.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Certification in welding from a recognized institution is preferred.
Key Work You Will Do
- Perform welding using:
- 136 – Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
- 138 – Metal Cored Arc Welding (MCAW)
- Types of welding required:
- Fillet welds (single-pass & multi-pass)
- Butt welds, including:
- Single side (without backing)
- Single side (with ceramic backing)
- Double side welding (with back gouging)
- Work in different welding positions:
- Flat (PA)
- Horizontal (PC)
- Vertical (PF)
- Overhead (PD)
- Perform:
- Air carbon arc gouging (back cutting)
- Oxy-fuel cutting (gas cutting torch)
- Read basic drawings and follow welding instructions (WPS)
Who Can Apply (Basic Qualification)
- ITI / Diploma in Welding, Fitter, Fabrication, or similar trade
- Minimum 3+ years experience in MIG/MAG welding
- Experience in heavy fabrication / shipyard / offshore / structural steel preferred
Mandatory Skills (Must Have)
- Experience in:
- FCAW (136) and/or MCAW (138)
- Multi-layer welding
- Different welding positions (especially vertical PF)
- Ability to produce clean, defect-free welds
- Knowledge of:
- Basic welding symbols
- Weld defects and repair
Certifications Required
- Welder certificate (preferred: EN ISO 9606-1 or equivalent)
- Gas cutting (oxy-fuel) certificate – mandatory
- Experience or certificate in air gouging preferred
Selection Process (Trade Test in India/Poland)
Candidates must pass a practical welding test, including:
- Fillet welds (single & multi-pass)
- Butt welds (various types)
- Welding in positions: PA, PC, PF, PD
Weld quality must meet: EN ISO 5817 – Level B (high standard)
