Job Summary
The
Web & Shopify Development Manager will own the development, performance, and continuous improvement of our Shopify Plus stores and digital platforms. This role requires strong web development experience, a keen eye for UX/UI, and working knowledge of AI tools and applications to drive automation, personalization, and efficiency. You'll work cross-functionally to ensure our e-commerce experiences reflect our brand's commitment to pet health, innovation, and user-centric design.
Key Responsibilities
Shopify & Platform Management:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Shopify Plus storefronts across multiple brands and regions.
- Implement custom themes, features, and third-party app integrations to enhance site functionality.
- Ensure speed, security, and mobile responsiveness across all digital assets.
AI & Automation
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Shopify Magic, Google Gemini, AI-driven CRO tools) to streamline development workflows, enhance content generation, automate testing, and personalize customer experiences.
- Apply machine learning tools or plug-ins for predictive analytics, product recommendations, and dynamic content delivery.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging AI trends in e-commerce and proactively test and adopt solutions that support growth and operational efficiency.
Web Development & SEO Optimization
- Oversee front-end and back-end development initiatives across our websites.
- Identify and resolve technical issues; optimize site speed, performance, and accessibility.
- Implement and maintain SEO best practices for improved organic visibility.
UX/UI & Customer Journey
- Collaborate with design, marketing, and content teams to ensure intuitive and visually appealing customer journeys.
- Use tools like Hotjar, GA4, and AI-based behavior analytics to evaluate user behavior and recommend improvements.
- Continuously test and refine landing pages, checkout flows, and site navigation for optimal conversion.
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Lead web development projects end-to-end: from planning and execution to launch and post-launch performance monitoring.
- Work closely with Marketing, Creative, Operations, and Customer Service teams to align web strategy with business objectives.
- Manage third-party vendors or developers as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Web Development, Computer Science, E-Commerce, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in web development and web designing, with 3+ years focused on Shopify (Shopify Plus preferred).
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid, and Shopify APIs.
- Experience using AI tools in web development, UX optimization, or e-commerce personalization.
- Familiarity with SEO, A/B testing, performance optimization, and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.).
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and passionate about creating high-performing e-commerce experiences.
