We are looking for a talented Web Developer who is equally comfortable working with traditional WordPress development and modern React/Next.js applications.

Role Overview

As a Web Developer at Tussle Digital, you will be responsible for designing, developing, optimising, and maintaining client websites and web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong WordPress development experience while also possessing the ability to build modern, high-performance websites using Next.js and React.

You will play a key role in helping our agency transition from traditional WordPress development to a modern, scalable Next.js architecture while ensuring exceptional user experience, SEO performance, and technical excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesWordPress Development

• Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins.
• Build responsive client websites using WordPress.
• Maintain and enhance existing WordPress websites.
• Work with WooCommerce and custom integrations.
• Optimise website performance, Core Web Vitals, security, and SEO.
• Manage WordPress hosting environments and deployments.
• Troubleshoot bugs, plugin conflicts, and website issues.

Next.js & Modern Web Development

• Build modern frontend applications using Next.js and React.
• Develop reusable UI components with Tailwind CSS.
• Integrate APIs and headless CMS platforms.
• Implement server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and API routes.
• Optimise applications for speed, scalability, and SEO.
• Work with authentication systems and third-party integrations.

General Development

• Convert Figma, Adobe XD, or design mock-ups into responsive websites.
• Ensure cross-browser and mobile compatibility.
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, project managers, and clients.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.
• Assist with technical planning and architecture discussions.
• Keep up to date with emerging web technologies and best practices.
