Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Financial Risk Data, the individual will be responsible for driving Data Management improvements in the Risk processes operating within Wholesale Credit Risk and GCDU, also on the strategic s166 Wholesale Credit Risk data quality issue remediation, which is also part of risk 2025 bow remediation.
What You Will Do
- Be responsible for identifying, tracking and delivering data quality improvements for the Credit Risk and Customer data (GCDU) Management Reporting and Analytical processes.
- Identifying, tracking and delivering data quality improvements for Wholesale Credit Risk and Customer Data (GCDU)
- Support Head of Financial Risk on creation of a data roadmap aligned to the Technology strategy to drive material improvements in the Data used within Wholesale Credit Risk and GCDU processes, supported by a Data scorecard to measure what good looks like.
- Be responsible for identifying, tracking and delivering data quality improvements for WCR GRA Model including but not limited to data addendum of Model Development & Model Monitoring life cycle
- Driving remediation of material BAU Data Quality issues, and remediation of regulatory programs including but not limited to BCBS 239, Basel3, Integrated Regulatory Reporting (IRR) etc compliance gaps.
- Lead delivery PoDs for of all strategic data programs including but not limited to BCBS239, s166 within Wholesale Credit Risk and Customer Data forum (GCDU)
- Represent Wholesale Credit Risk and Customer Data forum (GCDU) workstream in the Various Data forums to drive accountability and implementation of strategic data agenda.
- Support senior leaders by giving advice, challenging ideas and support the Global Chief Corporate Credit Officer on the monthly Data Forum
- Manage a strong team, keeping deliverables on track against the roadmap, working with partners / IT and thinking about efficient ways of working Ensure Data Management toll gates are embedded into Wholesale Credit Risk related projects to ensure initiatives become data management compliant during the project phase and with the transition into BAU
- Act as a knowledge base / point of contact for understanding the Data Standards and Data Architecture strategy for Wholesale Credit Risk and Customer Data forum (GCDU) function.
What You Will Need To Succeed In The Role
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Have a track-record of developing and implementing a data strategy.
- Detailed knowledge about Wholesale Credit Risk systems and processes
- Extensive track-record of leading multi-disciplined teams to deliver exceptional customer service and value.
- Strong stakeholder management
- The ability to work in a high-pressure environment to stringent timelines
- Have proven ability to deliver change globally across matrix-based organisations
- Thought leader in data management including but not limited to Data Governance, Architecture and Quality (issue management and remediation)
- Have excellent communication and social skills.
- Have experience in delivering in a highly regulated environment
- Have experience in data privacy and cloud (preferable)
