Design & Release Engineer ( Body Exteriors & Interiors)
Having D&R engineer experience in product development (VHM's) , will be given preference.
Responsibilities
Design and release of VP accessory parts follow GPDS/VPPDS process:
- Coordinating the design and development of body Interior/Exteriors Genuine Ford Accessories,
- e.g. Canopy, Tonneau cover, Roller shutter, Bed liners, Cargo Barrier, Blind, net, mat and trunk tray, Exterior plastic ornamentation parts, IP & Console, Hard trims/soft trims, Seats, Door trims etc.,
- Create and design new accessory parts to meet all engineering requirements/ timing and complete the release including WERS & drawing
- Modify existing PD design to meet new marketing assumption raised by IMG individual marketing & planning team
- Execute design in CAD with supplier or CAD team
- Take responsibility of part development through validation and launch including problem solving for engineering issues
- Proactive improvement for design cost, quality and functions of responsible accessories in production
- Lead and participate in cross functional decision-making team
- Participate build event in different plant for different programs
- Consult with core PD to clarify engineering constraints & requirements for VP new accessory design
- Work with Planning/PMT and PM to ensure all deliverables can meet each milestone on time
Qualifications
- MS or Bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Vehicle Engineering.
- Working experience in auto industry is a plus
- Good communication skill in English on both speaking and writing
- Experience in CATIA, 3DX and plastic/stamping tooling related background would be a plus
- Negotiation skills working with x-functional team and outside supplier
- Computer literacy and competency with the basic Microsoft Office include Word, Excel& Power point
- Multiple time zones to facilitate communication across (Europe, NA & IMG)
- Personality type conducive to knowledge transfer across cultural boundaries & time zones
