About the Office: The selected candidate will work with a Hyderabad-based Strategy and Coordination Unit supporting the Office of a Senior Minister. The unit produces videos, reels, speech highlights, political explainers, public-programme content and digital communication concerning political, governance and public-policy developments in Telangana and India. The creative team works closely with researchers and content writers to convert political and governance inputs into effective public communication.

About the Role: We are looking for a creative and politically aware Video Editor who can produce engaging short-form and long-form video content using original, archival and repurposed footage. The candidate should understand contemporary political communication and be able to convert speeches, field footage, interviews, public programmes and policy inputs into impactful videos for digital and media platforms.

Key Responsibilities: Create video content using original, archival and repurposed footage. Understand the brief, political context, target audience and communication objective before beginning the edit. Review scripts, speeches, interviews, raw footage and reference material. Select, trim and organise footage into a logical and engaging sequence.

Produce:

Social-media reels, Short videos, Speech highlights, Event and tour videos, Testimonial videos, Public-policy and governance explainers, Rapid-response videos, Documentary-style and long-form content

Add music, voice-over, subtitles, graphics, transitions, sound effects and visual effects.

• Create rough cuts and final cuts within prescribed timelines.
• Ensure smooth sequencing, pacing, sound quality and visual consistency.
• Accurately incorporate Telugu subtitles, captions and on-screen text.
• Repurpose long-form speeches, interviews and programmes into platform-specific short videos.
• Coordinate with content writers, research associates, graphic designers and senior stakeholders.
• Create content suitable for Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X and WhatsApp.
• Maintain an organised archive of footage, project files, edited videos and creative assets.
• Track political, digital and social-media trends and incorporate suitable formats.
• Support field shoots, interviews, tours, public meetings and political programmes when required.
• Continuously identify and implement new editing technologies, AI tools and industry best practices.
• Deliver rapid-response content during important political and media developments.

Eligibility and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of professional video-editing experience.
• Experience in political communication, digital media, news, advertising, public affairs or social-media agencies will be preferred.
• A strong video-editing portfolio or showreel is mandatory.

Academic Eligibility

• Graduates or diploma holders from reputed institutions are eligible to apply.
• Preference will be given to candidates from leading film, media, animation, communication and design institutions.
• Candidates from Tier-1 engineering or technology institutions with strong demonstrated expertise in video production, animation or digital media are also encouraged to apply.
• Candidates from other institutions with an exceptional portfolio and relevant professional experience will be considered.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
• Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or similar software is desirable.
• Experience in motion graphics, colour correction, audio editing, subtitling, compositing and basic animation.
• Strong storytelling, pacing and visual-composition abilities.
• Understanding of social-media formats, dimensions and platform requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within short deadlines.
• Strong file-management and digital-asset organisation skills.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted video-editing, captioning and production tools will be an advantage.

Language Requirements

• Knowledge of Telugu is mandatory & candidates must be able to understand spoken Telugu and accurately work with Telugu audio, subtitles and on-screen text, with ability to read and type Telugu will be strongly preferred.
• Working proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Hindi will be an added advantage.
