Role Description The V.M.C Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Ahmedabad. The V.M.C Operator will set up and operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) to manufacture moulds and dies according to engineering drawings and specifications. Responsibilities include preparing tools and fixtures, loading programs, monitoring machine operations, and making necessary adjustments to ensure precision and quality. The role involves inspecting finished components using appropriate measuring instruments, maintaining equipment and work areas, and coordinating with the design and production teams to meet delivery timelines. The V.M.C Operator is expected to follow safety guidelines, adhere to quality standards, and support continuous improvement in machining processes.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD/CAM outputs, and technical specifications for mould and die components.
- Hands-on experience in setting up and operating VMC machines, including tool selection, fixture setting, program loading, and process monitoring.
- Proficiency with measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and basic inspection techniques to verify close tolerances and component accuracy.
- Sound understanding of CNC machining principles, cutting parameters, and basic troubleshooting for machining issues.
- Attention to detail, strong focus on quality, and ability to follow established manufacturing and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with design, production, and quality teams.
- Prior experience in mould and die manufacturing or precision machining environments is highly beneficial.
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g., ITI, diploma in mechanical or production engineering, or equivalent practical experience) is preferred.
