Job Description
The UX/UI Designer is passionate about building and designing great products with great user experiences for mobile and web platforms. You will join a team that plays an integral, high visibility role in working across the company's B2C Ecommerce, B2B Ecommerce, and Store Systems teams.
The user experience team is responsible for designing solutions that drive the customer experience and, ultimately, enhance our bottom line as an organization. You will be deeply immersed in our customer journeys, dedicated to creating their elegant, frictionless experience as they interact with our platforms. Having the ability to deliver high quality assets of wireframes, user flows, visual designs, and prototypes while collaborating well with designers, developers, business owners, and analytics professionals is essential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- The primary mission for this role will be to know our customers. Know, and care about, their likes and dislikes, what will improve their experiences, and earn and sustain their loyalty.
- Collaborate with other designers, developers, business owners, and analysts to make the most informed design choices as we strive toward measurable results by aligning UX designs/experiences to customer and company goals.
- Participate in meetings for project research, discovery, and planning the execution of design assets.
- Be able to start with a conversation or a napkin sketch and produce fully-realized user experiences and workflows based on best practices, methodologies, and tools so your design and development teammates will be in position to succeed.
- Translate user needs, style guides, and business objectives into elegant experiences through deliverables: designs, prototypes, site maps, user flows, storyboards, etc.
- Help to make the team better through peer review and knowledge sharing. Be an advocate of the peer review process and help your teammates to grow by being generous with your knowledge.
- Aid in creating hypotheses, set research objectives, and work with teams in reaching a conclusion and plan for new UX execution while also analyzing available materials, case studies, traffic/usage insights, and industry reports.
Qualifications
- A strong portfolio showcasing interface design experience that communicates the UX process/story.
- Skilled with UX design tools (Figma primarily, but Sketch or Adobe XD) and rapid prototyping and wireframing tools (Figma, Framer, etc.)
- Excellent communications and presentation skills: written, verbal, and visual. The ability to convey and exchange ideas with others is a key to success here.
- Demonstrable ability to define new approaches to complex workflows and user journeys.
- Ability to find a balance between established brand guidelines and futuristic ideas when approaching UX design problems.
- Attention to detail, with a good eye and visual sensibilities. Strong instincts for look and feel will be an asset.
- Experience with a solid knowledge of UI design patterns with passion focused on usability and modern experiences.
- Experience documenting interaction details, visual design specifications and design system(s) for cross-team reuse.
- Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, dynamic, and agile environment.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian tools will be a plus.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
- 3-7 years of overall experience (may be in visual design, ux design, communications, or software dev).
