Job Description:
Provide legal counsel on a diverse range of matters related to day-to-day operations of the Company, including advising business leaders regarding legal issues and negotiating with business clients regarding contractual disputes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, support, service, business development, regulatory, IT, and finance, as well as various business units
Establish and maintain close partnership with business leaders to proactively identify risks or gaps in compliance and provide thought leadership in identifying trends and risks, and proposing innovative solutions
Helps ensure that deliverables are on time, within budget, and meet the quality levels expected by the Company's internal and external customers
Assist and manage outside counsel on litigation matters
Identify and implement legal department tools to streamline new or existing practices, as well as managing design, rollout, and training for new systems.
Refine central data repository for document management to facilitate collaborative sharing of information between legal professionals
Manage the drafting and negotiation of a variety of large complex contracts of all types, and modifications thereto.
Identify legal or contractual issues, develop solutions and provide guidance on resolving complex issues while ensuring that contract execution is consistent with applicable laws, government regulations, economic conditions, and company policies.
Embrace and apply best in class commercial business practices in the establishment of agreements and contracts that protect the company's business and proprietary interests throughout its life cycle.
Advise management of contractual rights, issues, and obligations and provide interpretation of terms and conditions.
Serve as the primary company contact for contract activities and issues with customers, collaboration partners and government representatives.
Influence company performance by guiding professional or technical staff on contractual matters, risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with management in the development of new business or expansion of existing business opportunities.
Remain current on commercial/government/international laws, regulations and practices affecting contracts.
