Job Description:

We, at Jet2 (UK's third largest airline and the largest tour operator), have established a state-of-the-art Technology and Innovation Centre in Pune, India. As part of our next-generation cloud transformation journey, we are building a modern AWS-based Data & Integration Engineering platform focused on scalability, automation, event-driven architecture, and real-time data processing.
We are looking for a highly skilled AWS focused Data Tester to join our growing Data Engineering practice and help test enterprise-grade cloud-native data platforms and integration solutions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in testing, and maintaining scalable AWS-based data pipelines, cloud integrations, event-driven workflows, and infrastructure automation solutions. The role requires close collaboration with Data Engineering Leads, Solution Architects, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders across Pune and Leeds.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise testing AWS cloud solutions, have a good understanding of SQL, have exposure to Terraform, and have a focus on the delivery of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be capable of working independently, and as part of a team, work on cloud engineering and data integration initiatives with minimal supervision, and be able to collaborate with colleagues in multiple geographic locations.
Core Responsibilities
•    Create dedicated test packs focused on orchestration workflows using AWS MWAA (Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow) 
•    Develop reusable test cases that can be used to facilitate efficient testing of future projects
•    Understand monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions using AWS CloudWatch and operational dashboards 
•    Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, security, and platform teams to ensure cloud solutions align with enterprise standards and governance 
•    Support CI/CD implementation and deployment automation using Git-based repositories and DevOps pipelines 
•    Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, orchestration, and pipeline-related production issues 
•    Ensure high-quality standards including reusable code, automation, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence 
•    Participate actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, estimation, retrospectives, and demos

Technical Skills & Knowledge

Mandatory
•    Strong experience testing AWS Cloud cloud-native solution
•    Understanding of: AWS Lambda, AWS S3 / Data Lake, AWS SQS/SNS, and Apache Airflow
•    Strong SQL expertise with experience working on large-scale relational and analytical datasets
•    Experience with Apache Kafka and event streaming concepts
•    Understanding of serverless and event-driven architecture patterns
•    Hands-on experience with Python scripting and automation
•    Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD deployment pipelines
•    Experience working with distributed data processing and scalable cloud platforms

Preferred Skills
•    Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker 
•    Experience with Airflow DAG development and orchestration best practices 
•    Exposure to DevOps and cloud security best practices 
•    Understanding of monitoring, logging, observability, and operational support models 
•    Experience working in enterprise-scale Agile Scrum delivery environments

Soft Skills
•    Good communication skills, both written and verbal
•    Ability to build strong relationship with people across teams
•    Experience of working with people from different geographies particularly UK

Leadership & Organizational Skill
•    Collaborate with Cloud Architects, Platform Engineers, DevOps teams, Data Engineers, and Business stakeholders 
•    Work closely with Team Leads and Senior Engineers to deliver scalable and high-quality cloud solutions 
•    Contribute to engineering best practices, reusable frameworks, automation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Certification
•    B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related quantitative disciplines
•    AWS Cloud Certification (Preferred)
    AWS Certified Developer Associate
    AWS Solutions Architect Associate
    AWS Data Engineer Associate
•    Terraform Certification (Preferred)
•    Certification or specialization in Cloud Engineering / Data Engineering (Desirable)
