JR107357 Technical Training Consultant & SME (Open)

About the Position
ServiceMax is seeking a Technical Training Consultant & SME to consult with client application and integrated product subject matter experts to research and gather technical product feature information and use cases. As part of the Product Education department, a candidate in this role will become a subject matter expert in administration of ServiceMax client applications and PTC products integrated with ServiceMax.This person will be responsible for transferring and disseminating technical product knowledge to support the development of training content.

The successful candidate will be a resourceful, dependable, and detail-oriented self-starter who possesses a knowledge of and Field Service Industry SAAS products and has solid communication, research skills, and technical writing experience. This position will report to the Director of Customer and Technical Training. Key competencies for this role include technical acumen, a consultative approach, and effective delivery of projects.

Job Responsibilities:

.Consult with technical subject matter experts to research and gather technical product feature information and use cases to transfer knowledge for learning content development

.Establish strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional team members

.Keep up with current product development and develop a solid understanding of products

.Gather contextual information that clarifies how, why, and when an administrator or end-user might use a feature

.Have a strong desire to explore features to understand not just how they work, but why they matter to the users

.Make challenging, complex ideas, concepts, and processes simple and understandable for diverse audiences

.Deliver knowledge transfers to instructional team on new and enhanced features

.Implement and manage configuration changes in trial environments as needed

.Conduct testing on course content and release features and provide feedback

.Deliver training courses to customers, partners, and employees both online and in person

.Actively contribute to team's work practices which may include weekly planning, regular team meetings and periodic reviews/retrospectives

Must Have:

.A bachelor's degree 4 years+ of relevant experience

.Experience with Administration and Field Service Industry SAAS products

.Highly motivated, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and be willing to collaborate as a key member of the Training Department

.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where self-learning and self-service is encouraged and instilled as a part of our culture

.Availability to communicate and/or meet with US-based team members in US time zone (min 5 hours per week)

.Excellent grammar, verbal and written communication skills

.Experience researching and writing technical content

.Strong problem solving and project management skills

.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and basic HTML

Nice to Have:
.Technical or marketing writing, technical training, training content development
.Prior experience in the Field Service Industry
.Intellectually curious to understand new and complex technologies
.Candidates must be prepared to provide a portfolio that demonstrates proficiency in product research, information gathering processes and technical writing
