Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Country General Manager and commercially to the Commercial Director, the Technical Sales Manager supports business development and technical initiatives across India. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing customer relationships, and ensuring accurate technical and commercial delivery. Close collaboration with operations, logistics, and sales teams is required to support project execution and maintain technical excellence. Regular weekly reporting on sales metrics, pipeline, and forecasts is essential. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct in-person techno-commercial and sales meetings with new and existing clients.
  • Manage full sales cycle: RFQs, quotations, follow-ups, pricing analysis, and order closures.
  • Strengthen key accounts and support projects through all stages.
  • Identify new business opportunities aligned with market strategy.
  • Prepare timely, accurate technical and commercial proposals.
  • Proactively address customer concerns and support regional teams.
  • Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers and procurement teams.
  • Gather and report competitor intelligence and market insights.
  • Contribute to marketing materials including presentations, case studies, and social content.
  • Support annual budgeting and regional business planning.
  • Liaise with suppliers and support parts/service quotations.
  • Maintain up-to-date pipeline and reporting in AMS and Phoenix CRM.
  • Monitor KPIs including revenue, targets, margins, enquiries, and orders.
  • Participate in joint client visits, promotional activities, and tender responses.
  • Continuously review sales processes and pursue new client acquisition.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Oil & Gas industry.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven technical sales experience in equipment/services such as jacking systems, drilling gear, lifting equipment, or rig services
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and rig systems (cranes, skidding systems, jacking gear, top drives)
  • Familiarity with API, DNV, ABS or similar industry standards
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Proficient with MS Office and CRM platforms
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and business processes
