Job Title: Maual QA Engineer

Aon is looking for a Manual QA Engineer

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting our Product Development Group within Aon's Strategy and Technology Group.

Your impact as a Manual QA Engineer

This experienced Manual QA Engineer will join a small high functioning development team. The primary responsibility will be ensuring quality and reliability of the software being tested with multiple products and mentor other QA resources in planning and development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing manual testing of software by executing the test cases and recording the results to identify.
  • Test case development creating detailed test cases-based on software requirements and specifications to cover various scenarios and functionalities.
  • Providing test estimation and resource planning to ensure accurate project timelines.
  • Support and improve our team's tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with product management, developers, and system administrators toensure timely and robust execution of testing as part of a regular release schedule.
  • Continually try to get into new corner cases of testing by increasing the complexity of test coverage.
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to isolate and resolve issues, including troubleshooting of customer issues.

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

Required Experience:

  • 5 years of in-depth knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and techniques is essential. Familiarity with various types of testing (functional, regression, integration etc.) is expected.
  • Test Documentation: Experience in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts is crucial for effectively conducting manual testing.
  • Bug Tracking: Proficiency in using bug tracking tools to report and track defects is often required (Tools) - JIRA , Azure Devops, Test Rail.
  • Comfort and experience to be adept at creating test plans and strategies, understanding project requirements and designing comprehensive test cases
  • Multi-project experience with domain knowledge (e.g., re/insurance, insurance pricing applications)
  • Proven skill in analyzing technical issues and translating them into component designs
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Team player who inspires trust, contributes to team success and leads by example to go the extra mile.
  • Experience in leading testing efforts, guiding junior testers and ensuring testing best practices are followed.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven work experience as a manual tester with a track record of successfully testing software applications.
  • Extensive experience in setting up and managing test environments to simulate real conditions for testing.
  • Being a primarily manual tester, having knowledge of test automation and knowing when to apply it can be an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams.
  • Having experience in data validation, data integrity, data accuracy (using SQL query languages) will be an asset.

Education:

  • BE in Computer Science or related field or equivalent knowledge and experience
