Role Summary

The Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Partnerships role is responsible for managingall upstream sourcing activities and vendor relationshipsacross Ellius, NBYO, and Scope3. This role works closely with the design team to ensure sourcing feasibility, cost clarity, and sustainability alignment before production begins.

The role oversees production health through coordination with a junior production team member but doesnotexecute day-to-day production tracking. Success is defined by sourcing clarity, vendor consistency, sustainability compliance, and early escalation of operational risks.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Identification & Management:

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard fabric, trim, and manufacturing vendors aligned with brand, sustainability, and scalability requirements.
• Build and maintain an approved vendor base across fashion and B2B product categories.
• Develop consistent working relationships with vendors to ensure reliability and repeatability.
• Support vendor categorization based on capability and performance.

Design Collaboration & Pre-Production Readiness:

• Work closely with the design team to ensure sourcing inputs align with product concepts.
• Finalize fabric, trim, MOQ, lead time, and cost inputs before tech packs and production sign-off.
• Ensure sourcing decisions are locked prior to bulk production.
• Minimize last-minute changes by enforcing sourcing discipline upstream.

Commercial Negotiation & Costing:

• Support cost discovery and commercial discussions with vendors.
• Finalize and document pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms.
• Maintain sourcing cost benchmarks and track cost movement.
• Support cost optimization initiatives at the sourcing stage.

Sustainability & Compliance:

• Ensure vendors align with sustainability and ethical standards relevant to Ellius, NBYO, and Scope3.
• Maintain records of sustainability certifications (GOTS, OEKO-TEX, GRS, Fair Trade, etc.).
• Support Scope3 client requirements with sourcing and compliance documentation.
• Assist in improving sustainability practices across the vendor base.

Production Oversight & Coordination:

• Oversee production status through coordination with the Production & Delivery Coordinator.
• Review production trackers, timelines, and escalation reports.
• Ensure risks are escalated within defined timelines.
• Intervene with vendors only when escalation thresholds are met.

Reporting & Vendor Performance Review:

• Review vendor responsiveness, cost adherence, and sourcing reliability.
• Provide structured inputs for vendor performance reviews.
• Share concise sourcing and operational updates with the Founder.
• Ensure sourcing documentation is complete and accessible.

Sustainability Integration:

• Support responsible material selection and ethical sourcing practices.
• Contribute to reducing environmental impact through informed sourcing decisions.
• Enable Scope3 objectives through transparent and verifiable sourcing inputs.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 36 years of experience in garment sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain roles.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, garment manufacturing, and vendor ecosystems.
• Experience working with sustainable materials and certifications.
• Good commercial, negotiation, and documentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate work through junior team members.
• Clear communication and structured working style.
