Job Purpose

Seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Structural Design Engineer with expertise in the analysis and design of bridge structures, elevated corridors, flyovers, viaducts, and associated structural components. The candidate will be responsible for detailed structural design, analysis, preparation of design calculations, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams while ensuring compliance with IRC, IS Codes, MORTH, and relevant international standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Design & Analysis

  • Lead the detailed design and analysis of bridge structures, flyovers, viaducts, elevated corridors, ROBs, RUBs, and metro structures.
  • Design and review superstructure elements including: PSC I Girders, BOX Girders, Deck Slabs, Cross Girders, Bearings & Expansion Joints
  • Design and review substructure components including- Piers, Pier Caps, Abutments, Foundation & Pile Caps,
  • Validate design outputs and optimize structural systems for safety, economy, and constructability.

Design Calculations & Documentation

  • Prepare detailed design calculations and design reports.
  • Develop General Arrangement Drawings (GADs), reinforcement drawings, and construction drawings.
  • Review design deliverables prepared by junior engineers and consultants.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with highway, geotechnical, drainage, utility, and construction teams.
  • Participate in technical discussions with clients, proof consultants, and independent engineers.
  • Provide engineering support during tendering, construction, and project execution phases.
  • Attend design review meetings and technical presentations.

Technical Leadership

  • Guide and mentor junior design engineers and drafting teams.
  • Establish design methodologies and quality control procedures.
  • Review design assumptions and ensure technical accuracy of calculations.
  • Support innovation and implementation of value engineering solutions.

Construction Support

  • Address site design queries and provide technical clarifications.
  • Review shop drawings and construction methodology submissions.
  • Assist in resolving structural issues arising during construction.
  • Conduct site visits for design validation and technical inspections.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation and design records.
  • Participate in internal and external design audits.

Job Specification

Education Qualification

  • M.E./M.Tech in Structural Engineering/Bridge Engineering (Preferred)

Work Experience

  • 8–15 years of experience in bridge and elevated structure design.

Preferred Industry

  • EPC/design-build contractors and large infrastructure developers.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven experience in highway, metro, railway, urban infrastructure, or transportation projects.
  • Experience in detailed engineering and design consultancy projects preferred.
  • Data-driven decision-making and strategic thinking.
