At SolarWinds, we're reimagining how enterprises monitor, manage, and secure complex IT environments. We're seeking aStaff Software Engineer Machine Learningto join our Platform Machine Learning team. In this role, you will provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and deploying scalable ML systems that power next-generation observability solutions.

What You'll Do

• Lead the end-to-end ML lifecyclefrom data preprocessing and analysis of telemetry data to algorithm design, model training, optimization, and production deployment.
• Drive architectural decisions and provide technical guidance for large-scale ML systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and product managers to shape technical solutions aligned with business needs.
• Leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) with frameworks such as LangChain and Hugging Face to build advanced, agentic AI systems.
• Implement and enforce MLOps best practices, ensuring models are reliable, reproducible, and monitored in production.
• Design experiments, including A/B testing, to validate model performance.
• Mentor and support other engineers, fostering best practices across the ML engineering function.
• Explore and integrate modern ML approaches such as vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Stay ahead of industry trends, applying emerging ML techniques to IT operations and observability.

What We're Looking For

• Deep expertise inPythonand ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying ML systems at scale.
• Strong track record applyingLLMsand modern AI frameworks in production settings.
• Proven ability to lead projects, make architectural decisions, and mentor engineers.
• Experience with MLOps, large-scale data pipelines, and production model lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with observability, IT operations, or infrastructure monitoring is a plus.
