Position Summary

We are seeking aStaff Systems Engineerto join a growing R&D team in Hyderabad supporting sustaining engineering, VAVE, and lifecycle management for theKingFishersample preparation systemsandDetection instruments.

In this role, you will act as atechnical lead for system and subsystem initiatives, driving cross-functional problem solving, supporting system architecture, and ensuring product performance, reliability, and cost competitiveness. You will play a key role inexecuting sustaining and VAVE programs, while contributing to the development of local capabilities that will expand intofuture product development ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Engineering & Technical Leadership

  • Act as atechnical lead for system or subsystem initiatives, working across hardware, software, firmware, and consumables.

  • Contribute tosystem architecture,requirementsdefinition, and interface specifications.

  • Leadroot cause investigations and structured problemsolvingforcomplex technical issues.

  • Drivedesign trade-offswith guidance from senior technical leaders.

Sustaining Engineering & Lifecycle Management

  • Execute and lead workstreams forsustaining engineering, including issue resolution, design updates, andcomponentobsolescence.

  • Support development and execution oflifecycle management plans.

  • Partner with global teams to ensureeffective knowledge transferand continuity of product understanding.

Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE)

  • Identifyand implementcost reduction opportunitiesat system and subsystem levels.

  • Lead or contribute tocross-functional VAVE initiativeswith R&D, operations, and sourcing.

  • Evaluatealternative components and design changesto improve cost and scalability.

Technical Contribution & Platform Support

  • Contribute totechnology and product roadmap discussions, providing system-level input.

  • Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.

  • Help advance the team's capabilities towardbroader productdevelopmentownership.

Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate withglobal R&D teams (Finland, US, Singapore)to support knowledge transfer and ongoing technical alignment.

  • Partner withBusiness Unit Product Managementto ensure alignment of technical execution with product priorities.

  • Interface withmanufacturing, quality, service, and sourcingto support product performance and issue resolution.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to acollaborative team environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering(Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related) advanced degree preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience insystems engineering, product development, or related roles.

  • Experience working withmulti-disciplinary systems(hardware, software, firmware, etc.).

  • Strong skills inproblem solving, root cause analysis, and technical execution.

  • Experience working incross-functional and global team environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience withlife sciences or analytical instrumentation(e.g., sample prep, PCR/qPCR).

  • Experience withVAVE, cost reduction, or design for manufacturability.

  • Familiarity withproduct development processes and design controls.

  • Experience withrequirements management and system integration.

  • Ability toinfluence and collaborate across teams.

Impact

  • Serves as atechnical lead for key system and subsystem initiatives.

  • Drives execution ofsustaining engineering and VAVE efforts.

  • Contributes tosystem-level decisions and product improvements.

  • Supports the growth ofR&D capability in Hyderabad.
