Staff Accountant

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant for the Accounting Services team, you will work as part of a group of critical thinkers to help clients understand and solve accounting issues. You will be responsible for supporting the Accounting Supervisor and other team members with client accounting and payroll tax needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively seek out new knowledge relevant to the role and share insights, best practices, and updates with team members to foster continuous learning and collective improvement.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and priorities, while proactively communicating any challenges or delays to the Supervisor.
  • Support team development by training, guiding, and offering constructive feedback to enhance their understanding and execution of work responsibilities.
  • Oversee the accurate maintenance of General Ledger accounts, profit centers, and cost centers in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Record daily financial transactions and post necessary adjusting journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Compile financial statements for both standalone and consolidated entities, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
  • Conduct flux analysis and review procedures to detect and address potential misstatements in account balances.
  • Develop comprehensive work papers and reconciliations that clearly support account balances and adjustments, with detailed documentation of procedures.
  • Analyze and organize financial data to identify gaps or inconsistencies and communicate queries effectively for resolution.
  • Apply critical thinking to resolve complex financial issues, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve effective solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field from an accredited university.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or currently progressing towards a CPA or CA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of public accounting experience, or experience working with a U.S. CPA firm's back office or provider.
  • Technical knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, and Bill.com.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, familiar with several technology and software platforms.
  • Ability to multi-task with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.

Location and way of working:

Location: Bangalore

Shift Timing:2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST (5-day work week)
