This is an Indirect Tax Research profile for global e-invoicing & digital reporting.
We are looking for an individual with proven expertise in research on e-invoicing/ live reporting/ International digital VAT Reporting . The ideal candidate will be an experienced business professional with strong academic credentials & relevant domain experience.

In this role, the candidate should be able to analyze and interpret tax laws, e-invoicing/live reporting guidelines, understand the changes and be able to summarize and/or expand the information reported upon request.
The candidate will be expected to conduct an end to end impact analysisof an e-invoicing legislative change timely to integrate those laws into the Avalara products.

In order to acquire/maintain the most current/accurate/timely e-invoicing legal information, the candidate must perform extensive research. Given the dynamic nature of indirect tax laws & E-invoicing trends, a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on developments is necessary to remain effective in this role.
Research, monitor, translate & interpret the tax laws and guidelines, evaluate content accuracy, summarize and conclude on content tax decisions and actions.
Be responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and timely content mainly for E-invoicing/live reporting capabilities.
Interpretation & research accuracy is critical to ensure that tax technology solutions meet legal and regulatory standards in relevant jurisdictions
Assistance with pre-testing of the e-file formats on Tax Authorities websites, offline applications
Understand how to connect with the Tax Authority s portals
Suggest and lead improvements in our software solutions
Collaborate with tax content research, product management and engineering to implement our solutions
Document research findings in each format providing a clear summary of the changes and being able to expand upon request.
Effectively work and communicate with team members to accomplish specific tasks in a timely, efficient and productive manner
Open to accept additional responsibilities assigned to meet deadlines
Attention to detail and the ability to work with large datasets is crucial
Must be flexible to occassionally overlap work schedule with US/UK timing, as in when needed for collaborative meetings or training
Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and reduce redundancy in current process
Lead automation & tax technology projects from inception to completion, including project planning, stakeholder management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Required Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is a must
Relevant advanced degree or certification (ie Accounting, Finance, Law, Economics)
5+ years of experience in Electronic invoicing / VAT digital reporting domain: International E-invoicing - / India e-invoicing / Digital reporting EMEA VAT experience
Indirect tax / digital reporting research experience, including a logical and creative approach to drilling down to specific data that is vital to the accuracy of the published content
Understanding and basic knowledge on ERP systems and their database structures (SAP, ORACLE & other ERP s)
Experience with basics of XSD schemas, UBL format and other technical information published by authorities
Effective communication skills (verbal and written)- conveying complex e-invoicing concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Analytical skills & legal research experience - for reviewing e-invoicing research, interpreting complex tax regulations, and developing effective tax technology solutions
Experienced professional to support the team environment through collective team topics, load balancing, and sharing/receiving constructive feedback
Proactively participate in a dynamic and innovative tax environment by maintaining a high level of energy while being consistently dependable, efficient, and accurate
Proficiency in MS office tools, browsers & & subscription research services.
Experience in working with indirect tax technology solutions/ tax software implementations/ tax process improvement projects
