Position : Sr. Executive - Legal
Job PurposeThe Legal Executive will serve as a core anchor for the organization's commercial operations, driving day-to-day contract management while providing targeted operational support for ongoing litigation and dispute resolution. The candidate will ensure legal risk mitigation across business agreements and support external counsel in court-related matters.
Key Responsibilities1. Contract Management & Commercial Operations (85%)- Drafting & Vetting: Draft, review, redline, and finalize a wide range of commercial agreements (e.g., Service Agreements, Vendor Contracts, NDAs, MoUs, Master Service Agreements, SaaS/IT Agreements, Procurement Contracts).
- Negotiation: Collaborate with internal business units and negotiate contract terms directly with counterparties to protect corporate interests and balance risk.
- Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Maintain the centralized contract repository, track key renewal/expiration dates, send timely automated notifications, and ensure post-execution compliance.
- Risk Advisory: Identify legal, operational, and financial risks in commercial transactions, advising internal stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies.
- Standardization: Maintain and update standard contract templates, Playbooks, and Clause Libraries to streamline the contracting workflow.
2. Litigation Support & Dispute Resolution (15%)- Legal Research & Case Briefs: Conduct focused legal research using databases (e.g., Manupatra, SCC Online, Westlaw) on procedural and substantive legal precedents.
- Pleadings & Notice Drafting: Draft preliminary legal notices, response letters, cease-and-desist notices, and assist in reviewing claims, replies, or affidavits.
- External Counsel Liaison: Assist in managing external law firms and advocates—preparing case dossiers, briefing external lawyers, and tracking fee caps/deliverables.
- Litigation Tracker & Records: Maintain up-to-date tracking of active court cases, arbitrations, regulatory notices, and statutory compliance hearings.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)- Contract Turnaround Time (TAT): Maintaining agreed SLAs for contract reviews without compromising quality.
- Contract Repository Accuracy: 100% adherence to tracking key dates (renewals, terminations, milestones).
Qualifications & Competencies- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. / B.A. LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of proven post-qualification experience
- Core Skills:
- Strong mastery of Contract Law, Commercial Laws, and Legal Redlining.
- High attention to detail and sharp written communication skills.
