Sr Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in MSBI technologies and Azure Data Engineering. This is an individual contributor role requiring deep technical expertise in designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise data solutions. The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently, delivering high-quality data pipelines, and driving data integration initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data integration and data warehousing solutions.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using MSBI technologies.
• Develop and support SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and SQL Server database solutions.
• Design and implement Azure-based data engineering solutions.
• Develop data ingestion frameworks using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Work with Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, and related Azure services.
• Perform data modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and application teams to understand data requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• SQL Server
• SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
• SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
• T-SQL programming and performance tuning
• Data Warehouse design and ETL development
• Strong Azure Data Engineering experience:
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
• Azure SQL Database
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure DevOps
• Experience building and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
• Experience with data migration from on-premises to Azure.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Databricks and PySpark.
• Knowledge of CI/CD implementation for data platforms.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus.
