Job Description

Position Summary

The Sr. Accountant oversees accounts receivable and revenue accounting activities, ensuring accurate receivable balances, deferred revenue, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role supports month-end close, reviews accounting transactions, analyzes revenue variances, and maintains effective accounting controls.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review AR aging and reconcile balances to the general ledger and balance sheet.
  • Monitor aged receivables, collection risks, unapplied cash, customer credits, deposits, and negative balances.
  • Prepare and review deferred revenue reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Review revenue accounting for memberships, events, licensing, conventions, and other revenue streams.
  • Review AR and revenue journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments.
  • Analyze revenue variances and investigate accounting discrepancies.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are complete, accurate, and adequately supported.
  • Maintain SOPs and identify process, control, and reporting improvements.
  • Support audits and provide required accounting documentation.
  • Partner with Finance and operational teams to resolve accounting issues and improve data quality.
  • Support implementation of system and process enhancements.

Qualifications

Required

  • Business-level English proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in AR, revenue accounting, and month-end close.
  • Experience supporting U.S. and Canadian accounting activities.
  • Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, Excel, and ERP systems.

Preferred

  • CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with deferred revenue, revenue recognition, audits, and multi-entity organizations.
