Role Description The Sports Head of Department (HOD) will lead the sports program across the school, with Cambridge curriculum experience being mandatory. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad at Pallavi International School, Bachupally. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and implementing sports curricula aligned with Cambridge standards, supervising and mentoring sports coaches, and organizing training sessions and practice schedules. The Sports HOD will oversee inter-house and inter-school competitions, ensure safety protocols and discipline on the field, and collaborate with academic leadership to integrate sports into the overall student development framework. The role also involves engaging with families and external partners to promote the sports program and enhance participation.
Qualifications
  • Strong sports coaching background, with experience in Football and multi-sport Coaching, and proven ability to design structured training programs.
  • Excellent Communication skills for interacting with learners, families, staff, and external stakeholders, including clear reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to leverage Sales and promotional skills to build participation in the sports program, drive enrollment in sports activities, and represent the school in events.
  • Demonstrated Cambridge curriculum experience in sports or physical education, with understanding of assessment and progression frameworks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field; advanced certifications in coaching or sports management are an advantage.
  • Experience leading a sports department or team, with strong organizational, leadership, and time-management abilities.
  • Commitment to learner safety, inclusion, and holistic development, with the ability to work collaboratively within a school environment.
