Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPM) for manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic assembly lines.
- Perform concept-to-detail design activities including feasibility studies and design validation.
- Create concept sketches and prepare 2D/3D drawings for assemblies, fabricated parts, and machined components.
- Conduct design calculations and apply tolerance analysis and GD&T standards.
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical design documentation.
- Translate customer requirements and functional specifications into practical mechanical designs.
- Support automation requirements by modifying PLC/HMI logic when required.
- Provide electrical and mechanical design support for industrial automation systems.
- Ensure zero-fault execution through effective design controls and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution and continuous improvements.
Experience:
- 8-15 years of relevant experience in Industrial Automation and Special Purpose Machine (SPM) Design.
- Strong hands-on experience in SPM machine design and development.
- Minimum 10-12 years of mandatory experience in Special Purpose Machine design environments.
- Experience in concept design, detailed engineering, and design calculations.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing drawing standards.
- Experience with mechanical design tools and industrial automation systems.
- Hands-on experience with PLC/HMI modifications and automation support is preferred.
- Experience with AutoDesk Inventor and SolidWorks is an added advantage.
Education: B.E./M.E. in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (Design background preferred).
