Your Impact

We are hiring a Specialist in Reconciliation Operations for both Chennai and Gurgaon. As a Specialist, you will lead and develop the offshore team responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reconciliations across global operations.

You will drive performance excellence by setting clear objectives and KPIs, overseeing the resolution of complex exceptions, and ensuring that all reconciliation activities meet defined service levels and compliance standards.

As part of the McKinsey Optimize function, you'll play a key role in shaping operational excellence by building strong stakeholder relationships across Procurement, Payments, and Finance, ensuring our reconciliation processes support the firm's strategic priorities and risk management objectives. Your work will directly contribute to a seamless financial operations experience, improved data accuracy, and stronger vendor partnerships across the global network.

In this role, you'll act as a process expert and problem solver, partnering with Payments Specialists, Product Managers, and Optimize leaders to design, refine, and implement best-in-class reconciliation practices. You will identify improvement opportunities, introduce automation and efficiency enhancements, and promote a high-performance culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous learning.

Your Qualifications and Skills

  • Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, finance, or related field) or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in reconciliation operations, financial accounting, or a related area, including team leadership or offshore delivery experience
  • Proven expertise in reconciliation processes, vendor or supplier management, and outsourced service delivery environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage daily operational performance against established KPIs and SLAs
  • Proficiency in using Excel and data management tools to analyze large datasets, identify discrepancies, and develop process improvements
  • Exceptional time management in a dynamic, autonomous work environment
  • Flexibility to work outside traditional business hours to support global operations as needed
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences and seniority levels
