Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investments team at Mercer, a Marsh Business. This role will be based in Gurgaon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office

tData Engineering and Automation Analyst (End User

)As part of our Global Data team supporting Investments, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the transformation of our data capabilities globally

.We will count on you to

  • :Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and automation solutions across OCIO and Advisory data sets
  • .Assist in data procurement, ingestion, preprocessing, validation, and delivery across modern data platforms
  • .Work with relational databases and cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent to support data processing and storage
  • .Help build and maintain ingestion pipelines from diverse sources including email extracts, portal downloads, SFTP feeds, and other vendor-driven inputs
  • .Identify manual, error-prone processes across investment and advisory data workflows and support automation using low-code/no-code platforms and scripting where appropriate
  • .Work closely with the lead engineer or functional lead on POCs and pilot initiatives to test tools, automation approaches, and process improvements
  • .Partner with investment teams, advisory professionals, data engineers, IT, and external data providers to support practical, business-aligned solutions
  • .Support data governance standards, data quality controls, validation checks, and security practices across the data ecosystem
  • .Help define and track KPIs to measure efficiency gains, data quality improvements, and adoption of automation initiatives
  • .Document processes, mappings, runbooks, and technical notes to support continuity and BAU readiness
  • .Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes clearly to the lead and other cross-functional stakeholders

What you need to hav

  • e:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, Data Science, or a related fiel
  • d.3–5 years of experience in data operations, data engineering, data management, or automation role
  • s.Good understanding of investment management operations and data, including how data supports portfolio management, reporting, and advisory processe
  • s.Experience working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar) and cloud-based data platform
  • s.Hands-on experience supporting data ingestion pipelines from non-standard and vendor-driven sources (email files, portals, SFTP
  • ).Exposure to low-code/no-code platforms, preferably Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI
  • ).Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, validation, and automation suppor
  • t.Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, ETL/ELT patterns, and data quality framework
  • s.Experience in developing data quality checks, recons and validation controls across investments datasets as part of the automation buil
  • d.Experience working on POCs or pilot work to test and operationalize new tools or process improvement
  • s.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical team
  • s.High attention to detail with a practical, execution-oriented mindse
  • t.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environmen
