About the Role:
The Software Quality Assurance Engineer – Mobile Applications is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and usability of mobile applications across Android and iOS platforms. This role works closely with Development, Automation, Product, and DevOps teams to validate mobile experiences and backend integrations throughout the Agile software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in mobile application testing, API validation, automation execution, and cloud-connected systems. The role also provides opportunities to leverage AI-assisted testing tools and low-code automation platforms to enhance testing effectiveness and efficiency.

- Develop, execute, maintain, and optimize test cases and test suites for Android and iOS mobile applications
- Perform end-to-end testing of mobile applications and supporting backend services
- Conduct API testing to validate mobile-backend integrations, business workflows, data integrity, and error handling
- Execute functional, integration, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across multiple devices and operating system versions
- Validate application behavior across real devices, emulators, simulators, and cloud-based device platforms
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects through resolution
- Support release readiness through comprehensive testing and quality validation activities
- Collaborate closely with developers and product teams to ensure quality requirements are met throughout development
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Prepare and maintain test data, test environments, and testing documentation
- Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, risks, blockers, and recommendations to stakeholders
Technical & Domain Expectations:
Mobile Quality Engineering:
- Validate Android and iOS mobile application functionality, performance, and usability
- Test application compatibility across devices, screen sizes, operating systems, and configurations
- Ensure seamless interaction between mobile applications and backend services
- Verify mobile user journeys and business-critical workflows
Mobile Platform Expertise:
- Strong understanding of Android and iOS platform architectures, lifecycle management, and OS-specific behaviors.
- Experience testing native mobile applications developed using Swift, Kotlin, Java, or cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter or React Native.
- Knowledge of mobile operating system upgrades and backward compatibility considerations.
- Experience validating application behavior across diverse device manufacturers, screen resolutions, and operating system versions.
- Understanding of mobile application distribution processes
API & Backend Validation:
- Test REST APIs supporting mobile applications
- Validate request/response structures, authentication, error handling, and data consistency
- Use tools such as Postman, pytest, or equivalent frameworks for API verification
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure service reliability and integration quality
Automation & AI-Assisted Testing:
- Support automation initiatives using Python-based testing frameworks
- Execute and maintain automated tests utilizing pytest, Appium, and related tools
- Contribute to improvement of automation coverage across mobile and API testing layers
- Utilize AI-assisted testing tools for test generation, debugging, analysis, and productivity improvements
- Explore low-code/no-code automation platforms such as AccelQ or similar solutions
Cloud & DevOps Collaboration:
- Work with cloud-hosted environments and services, primarily within AWS ecosystems
- Understand interactions between cloud services, APIs, databases, and mobile applications
- Support CI/CD testing activities and automated test execution pipelines
- Participate in environment validation and deployment verification activities
Quality & Continuous Improvement:
- Apply software testing best practices and test design techniques
- Support defect prevention through early validation and shift-left quality practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within QA and engineering teams
- Maintain high standards of test coverage, traceability, and documentation
- Support compliance, audit readiness, and quality processes where required
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing
- Hands-on experience testing Android and/or iOS mobile applications
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs and API-driven systems
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development environments
Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design, and defect management
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Python-based testing frameworks such as pytest
- Experience with Appium for cross-platform mobile automation
- Familiarity with Postman or similar API testing tools
- Basic knowledge of AWS cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures
- Experience with mobile automation frameworks and test execution pipelines
- Exposure to CI/CD practices and automated testing environments
