Job Description:
- The job involves validation and certification of Enterprise Operating Systems (Windows / Linux / VMware ESXi) on the clients Enterprise Server Platforms using applicable technologies and Software Engineering methodologies.
- The job also includes providing support in characterization, Root Cause Analysis and regression activities on the defects on multiple OS versions.
- The engineer is responsible to deal with various subsystems of the Operating Systems with focus on the client's hardware.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include
- Setup the test bed as per the hardware configuration matrix for the release consisting of platforms, peripherals, add-on cards etc and then install required software like firmware, BIOS, OS etc. Perform validation and/or certification as per the Test Strategy / Plan.
- Support in characterization, root cause analysis and regression of the issues identified. Provide adequate technical details to the internal and external teams to substantiate the findings and support issue resolution.
- The candidate should be good in Computer Architecture, with good exposure to Hardware, BIOS, and Firmware layers. Should have good understanding of Operating Systems, Hypervisors, Networking and Storage subsystems.
- Should have good exposure to automation and scripting.
- Should have good analytical skills to trouble shoot technical issues.

PROFILE OF CANDIDATES
- The candidate should be good in Computer Architecture, with good exposure to Hardware, BIOS, and Firmware layers.
- Should have good understanding of Operating Systems (Windows or Linux or VMware ESXi), Storage and/or Networking subsystems.
- Should have good analytical skills to trouble shoot technical issues.
- Should have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Certifications like VCP, RHCE, MCSE would be an added advantage
- Prior exposure to OS Certification process in VMware, Microsoft or Red Hat OSes would be added advantage
- Should be an engineering graduate in E&C/CS.
- Should have 2 to 5 years of relevant IT experience
Mandatory Skills:
- Exposure and expertise in OS - Windows / Linux / VMware ESXi Hardware server experience
- Exposure and expertise in Server Hardware / Storage
- Related OS certifications- VCP, RHCE, MCSE will be added advantage
Experience:
- Total Exp: 2- 3 years
- Rel Exp: 2+ years
