Software Engineer (Back End - Node.js, PostgreSQL)

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our product-based software development team in Mangalore. You will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications using Node.js and PostgreSQL, ensuring high performance and scalability for our innovative products.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain robust backend APIs and services using Node.js.

- Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas for data integrity and performance.

- Migrate the existing codebase from Java to Node.js

- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate APIs for seamless functionality.

- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.

- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, optimizing application performance.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

- Ensure scalability and security of backend systems.

- Assist in defining technical requirements for new features.

Requirements:

- 2-3 years of experience in backend development with Node.js, Express.js ,and PostgreSQL.

- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, integration with 3rd party APIs and microservices architecture.

- Proficiency in database management, including querying and optimization in PostgreSQL.

- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile methodologies.

- Understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD, deployments, monitoring)

- Basic knowledge of frontend technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.

- Ability to understand and work effectively with large existing codebases.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Secondary Skills: Frontend development (e.g., basic React or JavaScript).
