Oracle Generative AI Applications teamis an exciting team in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, delivering innovative servicesat the intersection of artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure. In Generative AI Applications team, you will build and operate SaaS applications leveraging state of art machine learning technologies for internal and external customers. You will be part of a team of smart, hands-on engineers with the expertise and passion to solve difficult problems in distributed highly available services using AI technologies to solve enterprise productivity use cases.At every level, our engineers have a significant technical and business impact by designing and building innovative new systems to power our customer's business critical applications.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Software Development Director to lead a team of engineers and deliver entire components or part of Generative AI Applications. This is an engineering management role responsible for delivery, people management and operations. This position will report into Director of Software Development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a software engineer in applications and distributed systems development
• 5+ years of experience in an engineering and team management role
• Experience with at least one high level language such as Java, Python and/or GoLang
• Experience in building services, applications or APIs in cloud
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Excellent judgment to influence technical roadmap direction, features, and priorities
• Experience driving hiring, onboarding new engineers and ongoing performance management
• Bachelor / Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer related technical discipline
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in working with Machine Learning/AI research teams
• Experience and/or knowledge in ML operations, ML pipelines, Generative AI or Agentic AI services

We are looking for a Software Development Director to lead a team of engineers and deliver entire components or part of Agentic AI platform service. This is an engineering management role responsible for delivery, people management and operations. Strong development background is mandatory. This position will report into Director of Software Development.

As a Software Development Director you will be responsible for:

• Design, development, delivery and operations of one or more features, components or services in OCI Generative AI
• Hiring, onboarding, mentoring and managing a team of software developers
• Maintaining scope, timeliness and quality of team's delivery
• Collaborating with peer managers, Technical program managers and product managers in roadmap and project planning activities
• Operations and 12 X 7 on-call activities for monitoring, patching, release and upgrade activities
• Setting goals, tracking performance and providing continuous feedback to team members
• Participating in org-wide activities including planning, reporting, analysis, training, hiring and related activities
