The AI Data Platform team is seeking a Principal Member of Technical Staff to build and operate scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support the Data Platform product, with a focus on the governance features and functionalities.

You will be responsible for applying your extensive knowledge of software engineering and user experience to develop and design highly performant and maintainable full-stack java/JEE-based applications and services on OCI Cloud Platform.

Your Responsibilities
As an integral part of the AI Data Platform (AIDP) team you will be responsible for the following -

• Help drive the next-generation Data Services, with a focus on micro services using Oracle standard tools, technology and development practices
• Drive one or more complex areas and do a detailed design of some components.
• Working directly with architects to ensure newer capabilities are built by applying right design principles
• Working with remote and geographically distributed teams to enable building the right products, using the right building blocks and making them consumable by other products easily
• Be very technically hands-on and own/drive key end-to-end product/services
• Mentor team members to drive technical growth and foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Proactively identify and address performance, security, and scalability challenges.
• Uphold coding best practices, conduct peer code reviews, and set standards for junior engineers.

Your Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent related fields.
• Excellent coding and design skills in Java and related technologies.
  • Core Java, JEE, Rest, Spring, Hibernate/eclipse link, JDBC, Microservices, Docker/ Kubernetes, Springboot
• Exposure to Data governance domain knowledge not limited to Data Quality, Data security, access, usage, Data stewardship, Lineage, Business glossary & Custom property, Data catalog and Metadata, compliance and risk management.
• Optional Exposure to Database, Apache Spark, Kafka, Storm, Redis, Hadoop, Zookeeper.
• Prior experience building cloud services.
• Familiar with Java open-source (e.g. OpenLineage) and API standards.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies in a dynamic environment.
• Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with the Agile process will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of the Cloud, and Data Governance will be an added advantage.
• 6-10+ years in software development

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
