Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Principle Engineer, the Full-Stack Developer will play a pivotal role in building and scaling ShipDelight's core technology stack. The role requires deep hands-on expertise in the MERN stack, Python, FastAPI, MongoDB, and strong capability in debugging, production deployments, and managing live product releases.
This role ensures that ShipDelight's technology remains robust, scalable, and aligned with evolving product and business needs. You will be responsible for transforming product requirements into high-quality code, ensuring system reliability, and enabling faster innovation cycles for the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, enhance, and maintain full-stack applications using React, Node.js, Python, FastAPI, and MongoDB.
- Write clean, reusable, scalable code, following modern engineering best practices and design patterns.
- Build and optimize REST APIs, backend microservices, and integrations across systems.
- Execute deployments, manage production releases, ensure system stability, and maintain zero-downtime standards.
- Debug production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve performance bottlenecks effectively.
- Ensure the stability, security, and performance of assigned backend and frontend modules.
- Maintain high code quality through reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, API specifications, and version control hygiene.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Data teams to deliver reliable, high-impact features.
- Provide technical feasibility inputs, participate in design discussions, and support architectural decisions.
- Work with DevOps for CI/CD workflows, containerization, environment readiness, and automation.
- Ensure data model accuracy, integration reliability, and support analytics-driven workflows.
- Align with platform-level architectural changes, product releases, and system design improvements.
- Follow best practices for security, compliance, and performance benchmarks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through refactoring, scalability upgrades, and technical optimization.
- Stay aligned with product priorities, business goals, and cross-functional dependencies.
Key Competencies :
Must Have
- Strong knowledge of React, Node.js, and backend frameworks.
- Hands-on expertise in Python & FastAPI, microservices, and REST API design.
- Deep understanding of MongoDB including schema design, indexing, aggregation pipelines, and performance tuning.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, code versioning, and environment management.
- Strong grounding in debugging logs, profilers, monitoring tools, and performance metrics.
- High proficiency across MERN Stack + Python + FastAPI.
- Ability to independently manage deployments and production releases.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and code optimization skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration with Product, QA, DevOps, and Data teams.
- Ownership mindset with accountability for end-to-end delivery.
- Calm and structured problem solver, especially under operational or production pressure.
- High reliability and strong attention to detail.
- 35 years of full-stack development experience with proven expertise in MERN, Python, FastAPI, and MongoDB.
- Demonstrated experience debugging and maintaining production-critical systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
Desirable
- Knowledge of scalable SaaS architectures, cloud infrastructure, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Exposure to queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) and caching systems (Redis).
- Understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with developer tooling, automation scripts, and internal utilities.
- Ability to contribute to system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum workflows, sprint planning, and modern engineering processes.
- Curiosity to learn new technologies and continuously improve platform performance.
- Mentoring orientation to support junior developers.
- Experience in SaaS or logistics-tech environments.
- Exposure to scalable microservices-based systems.
- Open-source contributions or documented personal projects.
