Department Brief

DSE - Entity Intelligence and Company Financials (Private Markets) is responsible for integration of all real time or intraday content at FactSet. This includes real time stock exchange feeds as well as real time news headline / document feeds. This data is delivered to our clients for use within the FactSet Workstation or other internal applications. Platform Engineering has a global presence across seven FactSet offices.

Job Responsibilities

  • FactSet is seeking for a software engineer with proficiency in Python to work on Private Markets Content Pipelines with high scalability, performance, resilience, and cost effectiveness.
  • Ownership on end-end product development & deployment deliverables.
  • Contribute to multiple engineering business functions.
  • Ensure delivering high quality, re-usable and maintainable code, perform Unit / Integration Testing of assigned tasks within the estimated timelines.
  • Influence Content Collection Pipeline design and innovation
  • Keep up to date with the new standards and practices.
  • Strategically explore open-source opportunities to improve our workflows.
  • Collaborate with Content stakeholders to understand and prioritize their requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile Methodology by working with Coaches, Scrum master's and Product Owners
  • Performance Improvements with the help of metrics provided by automatic monitoring all engineering artifacts.

Job Requirements

  • B Tech or M Tech in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working professionally as a Python Software Developer.
  • Organized, self-directed, and resourceful.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A passion to provide value by enabling other developers.
  • Knowledge of ETL and ELT processes.
  • Expert in python & pandas.
  • Experience in building data pipelines.
  • Advanced working SQL experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) and working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Expert in Docker, AWS Fargate, ECS, AWS Stack.
  • Experience interfacing via API and JSON

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Data Science concepts
  • Experience of Jupyter Notebooks is plus.
  • Experience in Prefect workflow orchestration is a plus
  • Experience in responsive web design and building responsive web sites is a plus.
  • Experience working with remote teams.
  • Ability to articulate and quickly adopt development best practices.
  • Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team.
