Role: Senior Software Engineer II - ServiceNow GRC/IRM
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer II – ServiceNow GRC/IRM to join our engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and Integrated Risk Management (IRM) solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ServiceNow IRM applications, workflow automation, platform development, and enterprise risk management processes. This individual will collaborate with Cybersecurity, Compliance, Audit, Risk Management, Privacy, and IT teams to automate governance processes, strengthen regulatory compliance, and improve enterprise risk visibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management (IRM) and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions.
- Implement and support ServiceNow applications including Policy & Compliance, Risk Management, Audit Management, Vendor Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, Privacy Management, and Enterprise Risk Management.
- Develop custom applications, workflows, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Catalog Items, and Flow Designer automations.
- Configure risk assessments, control testing, policy lifecycle management, issue management, exception management, and compliance workflows.
- Integrate ServiceNow with enterprise systems using REST APIs, Integration Hub, MID Servers, and third-party connectors.
- Design scalable workflows that automate governance, compliance, audit, and risk management processes.
- Collaborate with Security, Internal Audit, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Configure dashboards, reports, Performance Analytics, and executive scorecards for risk and compliance reporting.
- Support CMDB integration and data governance to improve operational risk visibility.
- Troubleshoot platform issues, optimize application performance, and ensure adherence to ServiceNow development best practices.
- Participate in architecture reviews, solution design, and platform roadmap planning.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering excellence across development teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, testing, and release management.
- Maintain technical documentation, solution architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of software engineering or ServiceNow platform development experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
- 3+ years of experience implementing ServiceNow GRC or Integrated Risk Management (IRM) solutions.
- Strong experience with JavaScript, Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and ServiceNow APIs.
- Experience implementing enterprise governance, risk, compliance, audit, or cybersecurity workflows.
- Strong understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience configuring CMDB, Security Operations integrations, and platform security.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, SOX.
- Experience using AI to automate repetitive engineering tasks and improve software delivery.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Risk and Compliance (CIS-RC)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Integrated Risk Management (IRM)
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CGRC, or GIAC certifications
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated testing
- Experience implementing enterprise governance and compliance solutions within regulated industries
