A scale‑up that has spent the last two years making advanced legal reasoning accessible through natural language. Our platform combines search, vector databases and large language models to provide lawyers with instant access to case law and legislation. We're now expanding rapidly: adding a legal research casebase (similar to AustLII/Jade.io), agentic workflows, legal practice management and Microsoft Word integrations to create an all‑in‑one legal workplace platform with the AI capabilities of Harvey and the casebase power of Lexis AI+. To help us achieve this, we're looking for a Senior QA Engineer who can act autonomously while working closely with other developers and our Head of Engineering.
Why this roleHigh autonomy: You'll own end‑to‑end QA of the product—while collaborating closely with your teammates.
Broad technical exposure: Contribute across End-to-end QA – with a combination of manual and automation testing using Playwright, performance testing and being the last line of defense against any bugs slipping into production. While doing this, you're looking at high exposure to testing complex RAG based AI systems.
Collaborative environment: Join a small, high‑trust team where your work is visible and valued. You'll work directly with the Head of Engineering and other engineers to ship features on time and to a high standard.
ResponsibilitiesManual Testing of new features including legal research casebase search, agentic workflows, practice management tools and Word integrations.
Automation Framework setup from scratch based on Playwright framework with JS/TS along with a reliable CI-CD for continuous testing.
Automate testing of existing features using Playwright based automation along with execution in a CI-CD pipelines.
Collaborate with the team: Coordinate with other engineers to build testability into features early, uphold quality gates and deliver releases on schedule.
Write clean, well‑documented test code: Deliver maintainable automation suites with clear test plans, defect documentation and coverage reporting.
Technical requirements7–10 years of professional quality engineering experience, ideally in high‑autonomy or startup environments.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with Playwright.
Experience testing RAG based AI systems.
Competence with Automation test execution in CI-CD Pipelines.
Ability to use AI effectively in product testing process.
Experience testing legal knowledge systems or search engines.
Familiarity with Performance and Security Testing.
