Job Responsibilities
- Create test plans, testing strategy, and automation frameworks.
- Review and re-evaluate the test strategy to adjust for new information, changing risks, shifting priorities, and schedules.
- Work in a 60% automated testing and 40% manual testing environment.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, and end-to-end) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Oversee quality review of various applications across consumer, partner, and admin surfaces.
- Ensure all products/features are shipped on time with maximum quality and minimal bugs.
- Oversee implementation and execution of functional, regression, smoke, and acceptance tests.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of test data and test documentation.
- Test complex API, web, and mobile applications that reference database back-end systems, and reproduce, debug, and isolate problems and verify fixes.
- Leverage modern and AI-assisted testing tools to improve coverage, speed, and reliability of the QA process.
- Assist in formulating QA standards and best practices, organizational policies and processes, and strategic plans.
- Understand business use cases/user stories and develop comprehensive test cases.
- Participate in the review and analysis of business requirements, functional specifications, and design documents.
- Partner with engineering teams to stay informed of new technologies being introduced and to ensure that system components are designed for testability.
- Help set and fulfill the QA hiring plan for the team, including screening and interviewing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–5 years of relevant software testing experience, with at least one year of team-leading experience.
- Strong hands-on automation experience is required — building and maintaining automated tests using tools such as Playwright, or Selenium (web) and Appium or Maestro (mobile), in any modern programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, or Dart).
- Solid working knowledge of Manual Testing (Web and Mobile on both iOS and Android).
- Experience integrating automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
- Solid knowledge of QA testing methodologies, concepts, processes, and documentation.
- Good knowledge of API testing, database testing, performance testing, and security/vulnerability testing.
- Hands-on experience testing web UIs, mobile apps, and APIs using Postman or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of Git and version-control workflows.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted/AI-augmented testing tools and workflows is a strong plus.
- Strong debugging skills; knowledge of networking/debugging tools like Charles Proxy, Fiddler, or similar is a big plus.
- Working experience with Agile methodology.
- Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, k6) is a plus.
- Strong and fluent communication skills.
- Experience in internet/startups/product development companies is preferred.
