Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a seasoned QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automation test frameworks and scripts. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in automation testing, with expertise in Playwright, Selenium, and Java, to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with development and QA teams within Agile environments to automate functional, regression, API, and database testing, ensuring system reliability, performance, and test coverage.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Playwright (primary tool), Selenium WebDriver, and TestNG for automation testing
- Hands-on experience with Java (version 8+), used for scripting and framework development
- Experience with build and dependency management tools like Maven
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI for pipeline integration
- Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git
- Experience designing and executing automated tests for APIs, web, and database validation
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum testing practices and tools like Jira
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to automation frameworks such as Cucumber or RestAssured
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
- Familiarity with cloud testing environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Understanding of automated testing best practices in DevSecOps pipelines
Overall Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute robust automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, and Java, aligned with project requirements
- Create and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, API, and database testing activities
- Collaborate with developers and QA teams to analyze requirements, identify test cases, and improve test coverage
- Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts, reporting issues and verifying fixes
- Conduct regression testing and support infrastructure for continuous testing in CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure test automation solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices
- Review test cases and automation code for quality, adherence to standards, and reliability
- Monitor and maintain automation metrics, generate test reports, and facilitate stakeholder updates
- Stay current with emerging automation tools, frameworks, and industry trends to drive continuous process improvement

Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years in automation testing, with extensive scripting and framework development experience

- Experience working within Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning and continuous testing practices
- Familiarity with testing complex applications across web, API, and data layers in enterprise environments
- Prior experience in financial, banking, or regulated industries is a plus but not mandatory; relevant project experience in other sectors is acceptable
Day-to-Day Activities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain automation scripts and frameworks for web, APIs, and database testing
- Collaborate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-up meetings to align testing activities with development cycles
- Execute automated test cases and troubleshoot failures to ensure high test coverage and reliability
- Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automation tests for seamless deployment and regression testing
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to organization standards and best practices
- Report automation test results, analyze trends, and escalate issues promptly
- Assist in test environment setup and data management for efficient test execution
- Stay updated on new testing tools, frameworks, and industry best practices to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Relevant certifications (such as ISTQB Advanced/Expert, Selenium or Playwright certifications) are a plus
- Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining automation frameworks across web, API, and database testing
