Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Principal Consultant (IC3) in the Banking Consulting Europe team, you will independently lead or participate in development, implementation, and managed service projects for Oracle Banking products, including FLEXCUBE. Leveraging deep technical and domain expertise, you will design, deliver, and support innovative solutions that address complex financial services needs. You'll play a key role in ensuring quality outcomes, mentoring teams, engaging with customers, and upholding Oracle's methodologies and standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 612 years of experience in the development, implementation, or support of core banking applications, with at least 3 years in a technical lead role.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in Core Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, RESTful services, JavaScript, XML, and microservices-based architectures.
  • Experience with Oracle Database (18c/12c), SQL, and PL/SQL.
  • Strong grasp of software development lifecycle (SDLC), release management, and source control tools.
  • Exposure to Oracle FLEXCUBE or similar core banking products.
  • Proficiency in application server deployment/troubleshooting (especially Oracle WebLogic).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, client interaction, and presentation skills in English.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, travel on assignment, and pursue technical certifications as required.

Good-to-Have:


  • Advanced knowledge of banking domain principles, products, and latest technology trends.
  • Experience with Oracle OBIEE, BIP, Fusion SOA Suite, DevOps tools, and testing frameworks.
  • Skills in database performance analysis (AWR/ADDM) and issue tracking.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exposure to software development processes, best practices, and managed services delivery.

Responsibilities


  • Lead and guide technical teams across development, implementation, and managed services activity streams (e.g., migration, integration, testing) for Oracle Banking solutions.
  • Analyze business requirements and design robust, scalable solutions in alignment with client objectives and Oracle's best practices.
  • Develop, test, and deploy programs per specifications and project schedules, ensuring adherence to defined coding standards and quality benchmarks.
  • Coordinate with client stakeholders, onsite, offshore, and cross-functional Oracle teams for seamless project execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement in deliverables and processes.
  • Enforce change control, maintain comprehensive documentation, and ensure audit/compliance requirements are met.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, timesheets, expense submissions, and thorough assignment handovers.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment.
