About the Role

As APAX continues to demonstrate growth potential and increasing importance in managing the Inforce portfolio, the L&H Operations Insights team plays a critical role in enhancing client service delivery and strengthening operational efficiency. This role contributes directly to these objectives by:

  • Conducting detailed data analysis to support informed and timely decision making.
  • Interpreting large and complex datasets to generate actionable insights for the business.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and champion operational excellence across functions

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Quality and Risk Management
  • Define key risks and process gaps, recommend monitoring tools and controls and ensure strong governance across L&H TA Operations, Operations Insights and Stargate or data related projects and initiatives.
  • Identify data quality inefficiencies and drive improvement initiatives in close collaboration with enabling teams, with the objective of mitigating risks and optimizing resource utilization

  1. Audit Support
  • Coordinate with TA Operations, Regional Business Managers and branch level auditors to evidence and validate requirements for both internal and external audits.
  • Act as the first point of contact for Group Internal Audit and other internal audit engagements


3. Financial Monitoring

  • Support Actuarial and Finance teams with financial monitoring for the L&H business.
  • Conduct financial comparisons including Actuals vs Estimates, Actuals vs Actuals, Cash flow variance analysis and collaborate across teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Lead quarterly monitoring activities and prepare reports supporting regional closing cycles.
  • Analyze revenue trends and key statistical metrics during periodic closing.
  • Perform pre and post closing activities and publish control and monitoring reports.

4. Advance Validation and Reporting

  • Understand the contractual agreements between Swiss Re and clients and perform detailed data validation with due diligence. This includes validations related to premiums, claims and underwriting clauses.
  • Prepare product level synopsis based on client data to generate meaningful insights for Portfolio Management, Actuarial and Products teams
  • Perform bespoke validations as requested by XFT. Generate and deliver analysis and regular technical accounting reports to support variety of business functions
  • Engage effectively with other business areas to identify opportunities for additional value-added analytical support.
  • Support quarterly regulatory reporting to Finance in accordance with regional requirements for Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, India and ANZ markets covering VAT, GST and other financial regulatory submissions.
  • Validate new treaties and addenda and provide inputs to Actuarial team for modelling across APAX
  • Validate new deals and Asia Key Treaties and provide necessary inputs to Operations
  • Conduct premium rate and complex data validations using tools such as SAS, advanced Excel/macros, Python, etc., to assess risk, identify variances and strengthen quality assurance for both upstream and downstream processes

About You:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably within (re)insurance environment
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance or accounting, insurance/finance-related certifications (e.g., IFRS 17) are an added advantage
  • Strong data analytical capabilities with knowledge of SQL, exposure to SAS, R, Python, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence is a plus
  • Strong technical skills in MS Word, Excel (including pivot tables and macros), PowerPoint, Access and Business Objects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, strong presentation abilities
  • Insurance accounting experience is advantageous, knowledge of insurance and reinsurance products and features is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative business environment
  • Strong desire to learn and develop, with openness to coaching and feedback
