We are seeking an experienced Legal professional to coordinate and execute all legal aspects pertaining to the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and providing expert legal advice to senior management and stakeholders. This will be an individual contributor role with lot of coordination with external legal firms.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management: Review, negotiate, and draft contracts with customers, vendors, and partners, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including transportation laws, labour laws, and data protection laws
Litigation Management: Manage all litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel, representing the company in court, and advising on settlement strategies
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks, developing and implementing strategies to minimize exposure to legal liabilities
Compliance Program: Develop, implement, and maintain a compliance program, including training, monitoring, and reporting
Data Protection: Ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR and Indian data protection laws
Intellectual Property: Manage and protect the company's intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents
Mergers and Acquisitions: Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, government agencies, and industry Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized institution
Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a legal role
Industry Experience: Preferably, experience in the service industry, in bus and car service mobility, city buses, or transportation sector. Experience with a blue-collar workforce will be an advantage
Skills: Excellent legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Certifications: Membership in a bar council or equivalent certification
Preferred Qualifications
Transportation Law Experience: Experience in transportation law, including regulations related to city buses and cars.
Indian Law Experience: Experience with Indian laws and regulations, including transportation laws, labour laws, and data protection laws.
Language Skills: Fluency in English and local languages (e.g. Hindi, Marathi)
