Job Description

This role is backend-led and architecture-heavy. You will help design and implement the foundational systems that support multi-city, multi-country operations. This is not a feature-delivery role. It is a systems-building role.

Responsibilities

  • Design scalable, secure backend systems using microservices or event-driven patterns.
  • Translate architectural direction into production-grade implementation.
  • Make practical trade-offs between speed and long-term scalability.
  • Build high-performance APIs using Node.js or Golang.
  • Handle concurrency, race conditions, and fault tolerance patterns.
  • Implement caching and indexing strategies for performance.
  • Manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Lead Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) orchestration.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement security best practices and OWASP standards.
  • Design and optimise SQL and NoSQL schemas.
  • Ensure high throughput and data integrity.
  • Maintain sub-second API performance where required.
  • Conduct code reviews and design discussions.
  • Bring structure and engineering discipline.
  • Mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of full-stack experience with strong backend depth.
  • Real exposure to system design and production systems.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of database internals and scaling patterns.
  • Ability to connect technical decisions with business impact.
