Purpose of the Function

  • IND AS / IFRS Financial Reporting
  • Managing treasury function and overseeing bank account operations
  • Controlling and optimizing cash flow
  • Strategizing funding optimization and maximizing returns on surplus funds
  • Handling Letter of Credit (LC) processes
  • Issuing and monitoring Earnest Money Deposits (EMDs)

Key Responsibilities

1. IND AS / IFRS Financial Reporting

  • Lead the preparation and review of financial statements and disclosures in compliance with Ind AS, the Companies Act, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the first-time adoption of Ind AS, including impact assessment, preparation of transition reconciliations, implementation of accounting policies, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, evaluate the impact of new or amended Ind AS, and ensure timely implementation.
  • Coordinate with statutory auditors and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth audits and timely resolution of financial reporting matters.
  • Strengthen financial reporting processes, internal controls, and governance to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.

2. Managing Treasury Function and Overseeing Bank Account Operations

  • Ensure compliance with company policies when opening and maintaining bank accounts.
  • Oversee the daily operations of all company bank accounts.
  • Manage the authorization and access of users to the company's bank accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of bank statements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to streamline bank account processes and improve operational efficiency.

3. Controlling and Optimizing Cash Flow

  • Monitor daily cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for business operations.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in cash flow projections.
  • Ensure timely processing of payments and collections to maintain smooth cash operations.
  • Timely highlight any cash flow shortfalls.
  • Ensure timely investment of surplus funds into deposits to maximize returns.

4. Handling Letter of Credit (LC) Processes

  • Facilitate the preparation, review, and issuance of Letters of Credit in accordance with agreements.
  • Liaise with banks, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth Letter of Credit transactions.
  • Ensure all required documentation is provided and meets the necessary standards for issuing LCs.
  • Monitor and manage outstanding Letters of Credit to prevent any issues related to payment.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to Letter of Credit transactions.
  • Ensure export processes and FEMA regulations are met for MTT transactions.

5. Issuing and Monitoring Earnest Money Deposits (EMDs)

  • Oversee the issuance of Earnest Money Deposits as per contractual agreements.
  • Track and ensure proper documentation of all Earnest Money Deposits.
  • Liaise with banks for the issuance of EMDs.
  • Monitor the status of Earnest Money Deposits to ensure timely and accurate processing and track return status.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to Earnest Money Deposits in a timely manner.

Additional Responsibilities – Internal Controls & Audit

  • Handle internal audits and manage internal controls, including:
  • Responding to and resolving internal audit queries.
  • Maintaining the Risk Control Matrix (RCM).
  • Conducting periodic test checks and maintaining records thereof.
  • Reporting outcomes and observations to management.
  • Routinely test processes, identify control gaps, and provide recommendations for improvement.

Skills & Competencies

  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA
  • Strong expertise in IND AS / IFRS Accounting
  • Experience working in an MNC environment
  • Strong understanding of treasury operations, cash flow management, banking processes, and regulatory compliance

Education & Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • 6–8 years of relevant experience
